Indian Card Game - Rummy

Rummy was originally a popular card game in Europe and the United States. The Indian version of Rummy is said to be a more localized card game from Southern India, which was later developed into an online game. The basic game rules are :


*Played by 2~6 players at a time

*At the beginning, a set of 13 cards is dealt to each player, the rest of the cards are placed face down on the table (closed deck) and the top one is placed face up

*The basic gameplay is to form 3 or 4 cards of the same numbers (such as three 6s or four 8s) or to form a valid sequences of same fruit (such as ♠5, ♠6, ♠7, ♠8)

*This is a draw and discard based game, each player picks a set of card or draw one card form the closed deck upon his/her turn and discards the card(s) to the open pile

*Joker can be used as substitutes for any card to form a combination

*Each card holds specific points, the player who achieves zero points first wins the game. At the end the unmade points of the other players are totalled.


Rummy, as a simple and easy-to-play game, has existed on the Internet for more than ten years, but it has only become popular in the past few years.
